The books in this section are usually hardcover and in decent condition, though we'll sometimes offer hard-to-find books in lesser condition at a reduced price. Though we often put images of the book with their original dust jackets, the copies here won't always (or even often) have them. If that is important to you, please call ahead or say so in the order comments!

This book's unique treatment of military uniforms is interesting for history and military science enthusiasts alike. It covers the major wars from the late 17th century to World War I. A survey of the causes of various conflicts is followed by detailed descriptions of the uniforms worn by the fighting forces involved. Included are the uniforms of the American Revolution, the Napoleonic Wars, the Crimean War, the American Civil War and the uniforms of the eighteen countries that took part in the 1914-18 conflict. In total, the uniforms – infantry and cavalry, dragoons, lancers and zouaves – of over thirty countries are described and illustrated.
