An adapted version of Alec Forbes of Howglen.
Set in nineteenth century Scotland, this is a heart-warming story about orphan Annie Anderson and her friend Alec Forbes. It stresses important concepts, such as the love of God and honesty in our dealings with others, and MacDonald's depiction of Alec and Annie's friendship is wonderful. Highly recommended.
