This is the sixth book that Lewis wrote in his acclaimed Chronicles of Narnia series, but chronologically, it is the first title.

Their lives burst into adventure when Digory's Uncle Andrew, who thinks he is a magician, sends them hurtling to . . . somewhere else. I like it when Aslan, the lion turns an ordinary horse into a pegasus. When the pegasus flew it made me feel as if I could fly right into the book and be a character. I also liked it when the magician got planted because the animals thought he was a tree. They thought his head was a root!
