Robertson was born in Parsons Green, London, England, and after growing up he decided to study graphic art at Hounslow Borough. There he found an interest in illustrating books. After graduation, he spent time at artistic jobs such as in museums and on subways before continuing his art education at Kingston Polytechnic. Both a children's book illustrator and author, Robertson's firm belief is that the illustrations and story line should go hand-in-hand. Robertson continues to draw and write from his home in Bradford on Avon in England.
