  Pretty Tame for A Book About A Massacre

Everyone has heard of the Alamo, but the story is so rich in drama it really deserves more than the usual movie treatment. This book does the moment justice, include the part where Davy Crockett rushes the Mexican General Santa Ana and is killed by being struck with five swords from the General's bodyguards. If that sentence is too much for your child as yet, avoid this book for now. Otherwise, forge ahead: its a moment to remember.
