Lillian Nayder

Nayder graduated from John Hopkins University and the University of Virginia, earning both her Master's degree and a Ph.D. She is an associate professor of English at Bates College and co-editor of the Wilkie Collins Society Journal. Taking a deep interest in Charles Dickens, she explored his writing relationships with those he mentored, particularly Wilkie Collins, the author of The Moonstone. Because of her research, she penned the afterword of this classic detective book. She continues to write and teach about the Victorian period.
