Lowell B. Graham was born in Baltimore, Maryland in 1971. He loved school so much that he never left, transitioning seamlessly between life as a student and life as a teacher. He earned degrees in both literature [B.A., Wheaton College] and theology [M.Div., Covenant Theological Seminary] and he is now chairman of the Bible department and teacher of English and worldviews at Westminster Christian Academy in St. Louis, Missouri.) He has also written several articles in IVP's Dictionary of Biblical Imagery.
He and his wife Joanne would like one day to have a house by the sea, which he wants to call "The Grey Havens." His wife is Australian, which he thinks is appropriate since his grandfather was Australian and his father was born in Melbourne. The fact that he has these Australian connections and that his father grew up in Ethiopia all make him think he is more international than he really is. He went to Wheaton College, where Billy Graham went, but they aren't related. He likes sports of all varieties, especially basketball and lacrosse. His biggest sports achievement was scoring 7 goals in a lacrosse game when he was a junior in college (a 10-6 win against Illinois State). He and his wife have two beautiful children, Tom and Ella, who love books, which pleases him immensely.
