Ken Ham

Ken Ham

Ken Ham, the noted defender of young earth creationism, was born October 20, 1951 in Australia. He was educated in his hometown of Queensland, holding both a bachelor's in applied science from Queensland Institute of Technology and a Diploma of Education from the University of Queensland. Ham began his activism for creation science in 1979, when he co-founded the Creation Science Foundation, also located in his hometown. He moved to the United States in 1989 and worked for the Institute for Creation Research before founding Answers in Genesis in 1994. It is this ministry, one that seeks to propound young earth creationism based on a literal interpretation of Genesis, that has lifted Ham to fame worldwide. An ardent supporter of this brand of creationism, Ham believes that the earth's age is no more than 6,000 years, and spiritedly defies that evolution could have produced such a gloriously complex world. To support his view of such a divinely created earth, Ham takes his message all over the world, where his talks are in high demand. He also has authored many books on the subject for all ages, and strives to relate deeply faith-based convictions through his works while attempting to give answers to the mysteries of our world. Ken Ham remains the president of Answers in Genesis, and lives in Cincinnati with his wife Marilyn, with whom he has five children.
