Update: this bio is quite dated and since it was posted, some unsavory facts about James Nance have come to light. We don't know a lot of details, but the timeline linked to here makes it clear what those concerns are.
About the Author (from his Amazon author bio)
My hero, Leonardo of Pisa, was born the same year that the famous tower of his birthplace went up (and though it was upright at the time, it began leaning soon thereafter). We share this odd bit of trivia; I was born in Seattle the same year (same month, actually) that the famous tower of that city (the Space Needle) was erected, in February of 1962 for the World's Fair.
My dad worked for Boeing (like most of his friends), and after graduating with a B.S. in M.E. in 1984 from Washington State University, I followed Dad, working on the 757 in Renton, Washington. While working at Boeing I met my lovely wife Giselle (she worked on the AWACS program). We now have four children: Jamie, Josiah, Jacqueline, and Jonathan.
After five years I left engineering forever and moved my family to Moscow, Idaho, where from 1989 to 2014 I taught at Logos School, a private Christian school, and the flagship of ACCS. Among other courses, I taught logic, calculus, physics, and rhetoric. While teaching at Logos, I co-authored Introductory Logic with Douglas Wilson, and wrote Intermediate Logic, along with all the supplemental materials.
