Introductory Geography

The study of geography isn't particularly intuitive. It comes with its own set of vocabulary and principles that, while not as complex and interdependent as trigonometry or calculus, still demands a level of familiarity before engagement on any meaningful level. It's not hard to achieve this familiarity, but it is a prerequisite.

Books in this category are intended to introduce kids to the study of geography in such a way that they become interested in it and are equipped to investigate it. Most combine workbook-style pages with text to read, though a resource like The Book of Where is text-only with some possible exercises included to help students hone their new skills.

Review by C. Hollis Crossman
C. Hollis Crossman used to be a child. Now he is a husband and father, teaches adult Sunday school in his Presbyterian congregation, and likes weird stuff. He might be a mythical creature, but he's definitely not a centaur.Read more of his reviews here.
