In the Beginning is the first of two courses devoted to manuscript (printing) style handwriting. Young students will strengthen their basic penmanship skills as they trace shapes, draw lines, and finally work on letters. Designed to fit the attention span of a kindergartener, each lesson is designed to take only about 15-20 minutes per topic. Children will work on following oral directions through interspersed games and activities; penmanship motor skills are strengthened through circling or crossing out objects, and finally moving on to tracing both upper and lower-case letters.
This text uses a modified version of the Palmer method. Practice lines are 3/4" in height.
