The books in this section are usually hardcover and in decent condition, though we'll sometimes offer hard-to-find books in lesser condition at a reduced price. Though we often put images of the book with their original dust jackets, the copies here won't always (or even often) have them. If that is important to you, please call ahead or say so in the order comments!

From the dust jacket:

Dividing the book into centuries, from the Early Britons to the 1950s the author covers dress worn by girls and boys including headwear and hairstyles; footwear and legwear, and accessories.

Babies' wear is also included and a brief description of babies' and children's toys gives added interest to a concise text, clearly and lavishly illustrated with line drawings.

In addition there is a glossary of costume terms used in the book, a bibliography and an index, making this a valuable work of reference especially for schools and students of costume history.

Marion Sichel has worked for many years in historical costume reference, particularly in the field of theatrical design. She is now a full-time costume researcher.
