Hank Hanegraaff

Hank Hanegraaff

Hendrik ("Hank") Hanegraaff is a conservative voice for both evangelical Christianity and the Christian countercult movement. Born in 1950 in the Netherlands, Hanegraaff was raised in the United States, and began his ministry with Christian Research Institute (CRI) in the late 1980s. It was with CRI that he entered the countercult movement, which seeks to reveal the heresy within cults from a conservative Christian foundation. Since the death of CRI founder Walter Martin, Hanegraaff has served as president of the ministry, taking on the responsiblities he inherited with the position. Among these are hosting The Bible Answer Man, the ministry's radio program and much itinerant preaching as well as speaking at conferences.

Hanegraaff is also a prolific author who boldy puts into print his and his ministry's views on cults, along with other religions and religious movements within Christianity. Some of his particular targets include the World Faith movement, the Worldwide Church of God, and some of the more extreme charismatic movements. Hanegraaff's analyses are chronicled (respectively) in the works Christianity in Crisis, Transformed by Truth, and Counterfeit Revival. He also has many other apologetic works, all of which stem from a passion for biblical inerrancy, correct interpretation of God's Word, and discernment for the truth. Aside from his overwhelming career in ministry, Hanegraaff has a busy home life with his wife and their nine children.
