Truthfully, the movie is just a preview to what's in this book. Here is so much depth, so much insight from a Southern writing about Southerns. Margaret Mitchell's characters, especially Scarlet, are so relatable and their feelings and struggles are real. Her pictures of days gone by are compelling, from glowing, soft, green and red plantation afternoons to the burning of Atlanta. Be prepared to be swept into another world, the world of a fiery Southern belle and her journey through the war and beyond.
