The books in this section are usually hardcover and in decent shape, though we'll sometimes offer hard-to-find books in lesser condition at a reduced price. Though we often put images of the book with their original dust jackets, the copies here won't always (or even often) have them. If that is important to you, please call ahead or say so in the order comments!
Star Date A.D. 2371. Commander J. J. Adams and his crew on the United Planets Cruiser C-57-D are sent to Altair-4, a desert planet, to investigate the disappearance of spaceship Bellerophon. Once there, they have no trouble finding the crew's sole survivor, Dr. Edward Morbius, along with his beautiful daughter and their astounding robotic butler. But they also discover that Morbius has no intention of being rescued, for he has stumbled upon a source of power that could give him control of the entire universe!
Forbidden Planet was originally published in 1956 by Farrar, Straus and Cudahy in conjunction with the landmark science-fiction film starring Walter Pidgeon and Anne Francis. The novel is in many ways superior to the movie especially in its characterizations and attention to plot details. It is classic science fiction, back at last.
