Elizabeth Payne

Elizabeth Payne

A native of Nettleton, Mississippi, Payne grew up to become a history professor. One course she teaches is how history relates to women in the United States. A project Dr. Payne and several doctoral students created has turned into a documentary. Making Do provides an oral history of Northern Mississippi women born before World War II. A writer for middle-grade readers as well, Payne has published a book called Pharaohs of Ancient Egypt.
