Echoes of the Civil War: The Blue

This selection of letters, speeches, journals, and eyewitness accounts of the Civil War presents the views of soldiers, nurses, volunteers, and political and military leaders from the Union side of the war. The story opens and closes with inaugural speeches of President Lincoln, and goes on to focus on the daily lives of the Union soldiers in camp, on the battlefield, and in hospitals.
