A native of Chicago, Illinois, Mall was born on July 14, 1920. She later attended Wartburg College in Iowa before marrying a Lutheran minister. While her husband served as a U.S. Army chaplain, Mall lived in Germany for three years. During this time, they adopted five children. Mall raised her children, served as an administrative assistant in the Illinois Presbyterian Church, has written numerous books, such as
Kitty, My Rib, and has penned articles for church magazines.
