Our America spends time re-introducing the American flag (following the original introduction in My America and My World, showing what it stands for, introducing the Pledge of Allegiance, and giving rules for honoring the flag. Next, the book explores the Patriotic holidays, offering background on Presidential birthdays, Memorial and Veterans Day, Flag Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, and Thanksgiving. After that, a few of America's songs are presented, "Yankee Doodle," the "Star-Spangled Banner," "America," "America the Beautiful," and "God Bless America" included. The rest of the book is mostly taken up discussing "The People Who Built America," groups like the Separatists, America's Indians, the Colonists, the Pioneers, the Cowboys, and the "New Americans."
