Part of a planned six-volume series which will provide students with an excellent course of study dealing with traditional mathematics concepts. Problem-solving strategies, critical thinking, estimation, and mental math are routinely stressed throughout; systematic review of each basic skill concept is also an important feature. Chapter tests are included in the workbook.

  No Bells and Whistles

This is good value for money, as with most Christian Liberty Press products are, your child will get a good foundation in basic K Math skills. But they may not enjoy their work, as there are no bells and whistles with this program. In fact the repetition ensures that the child grasps the concept, but the methods used are very repetitive, and not often varied. Each page layout is pretty similar, and it got a bit monotonous for my child. There is not much color, nor too many pictures, which would be fine for those distracted by such things. The teacher guide offers very few extra ideas, but not for each lesson. I was really hoping for a daily scripted lesson, but it is a very thin little book. All in all, it is a pretty dry program, and if you have someone who is not too keen on Math I do not think this program will win them over. If it is all you can afford, or get given this book, I'd liven it up a bit.
