This series underwent a number of revisions in its 70+ year history.
The first series from 1912, titled Boys' and Girls' Bookshelf, was produced in a 21-volume set which had titles split up over two volumes.
- Vols 1 & 2: Fun & Thought for Little Folk
- Vols 3 & 4: Famous Tales and Laughter Stories
- Vols 5 & 6: Nature and Outdoor Life
- Vols 7 & 8: Historic Tales and Golden Deeds
- Vols 9 & 10: Chidlren's Book of Fact and Fancy
- Vols 11 & 12: Childrens's Book of Work and Play
- Vols 13 & 14: Nature and Outdoor Life
- Vols 15 & 16: Book of Wonders and Curious Things
- Vols 17 & 18: Historic Tales and Golden Deeds
- Vols 19 & 20: Little Journeys into Bookland
- Index & Study Courses
The next series from 1955 had been tweaked dramatically, with only 9 volumes, retitled Bookshelf for Boys and Girls.
Then came the 1963 10-volume set.
And finally the 1970s (dates from 1970-76) "Rainbow" Set.
