C. W. Anderson's Billy & Blaze books, written from the mid-1930s to 1969, are delightful stories about a boy and his horse. The drawings in the books are lively, very accurate, highly detailed (done in pen-and-ink), and now with color covers. All nine books, now available in a collectible boxed set, are in paperback; hardcovers are not available.
