Bruce, a bear bully, never picks on anyone his own size—he enjoys rolling boulders down the hill, scaring all the smaller folk, and laughing till his sides hurt. But one day, he scares the wrong person: a small but very independent witch. She takes revenge by shrinking him, leaving him a target for all those he bullied before.
This is probably our least-favorite title by Bill Peet: it has the witch character, who takes revenge, and the bear doesn't even learn his lesson. After a few weeks the tiny bear is back to his old games—just scaring insects instead of rabbits!
