History, religion, and adventure blend in The Bible That Wouldn't Burn, the story of how William Tyndale gave his life to bring the Bible to the English in their own language instead of Latin and Greek. Tyndale, a contemporary of Martin Luther, fought the English church fathers until they could get rid of him but not his translation. The story is seen through the eyes of a boy and contains a copy of the Christmas story in Tyndale's own translation from one of the few remaining copies of Tyndale's New Testament in the British Museum.
