Betsy Franco is the author of more than forty books for children and young adults. She rarely sees mathematics in isolation—her purpose is to bring math to life by linking it to different parts of the curriculum and to everyday life. For example, geometry, algebra, art, and Japanese tradition are interwoven in Unfolding Mathematics with Unit Origami. Having lived in Japan as a child, where she learned paper folding from an elderly neighbor, this book was a natural for Betsy. Betsy is a graduate of Stanford University and received her M.Ed from Lesley College.
