The books in this section are usually hardcover and in decent shape, though we'll sometimes offer hard-to-find books in lesser condition at a reduced price. Though we often put images of the book with their original dust jackets, the copies here won't always (or even often) have them.  If you need to see photos of the actual book or have questions about the condition, please call or email.

At the beginning of the school day Jim is almost sure that Paul is his best friend, but he gets less sure as the day goes by. When the light goes out in the school's incubator–threatening the chicks the children are hatching–Jim and Paul cope with the emergency together. And at the end of the day they know they are best friends.

As they did in Miriam Cohen's first book, Will I Have a Friend?, colorful pictures by Lillian Hoban perfectly complement a warm, appealing story about a universal experience in growing up.
