Started when homeschool dad and scientist Jay Wile becan publishing his own science textbooks, Apologia first developed a high school curriculum, worked its way down to middle school, then began publishing Jeannie Fulbright's elementary series. Eventually, Wile sold the company to the Carman family, and they have continued to develop the company's offerings, with expanded science, math, and worldview courses, among others.
