This book is about a country vet named James Herriot. It's full of love for animals and the occasional bit of humor. There are some sad parts, but it's a great book. It's a really great book and I think you should read it.

This is a book I can pick up anytime, open anywhere, and know I'm in for a good read. While there is an over-arching tale in the book, the majority of the chapters are simply episodes in his life as a British country vet. Sometimes they are funny, other times, heartwarming, and at times you set the book down with a tear of sweet sorrow. He is never shy about laughing at himself, and he relates details of the old-fashioned farms with charm and respect.
A great book, I can recommend it to anyone.
