The Story of Mankind: A Picturesque Tale of Progress Complete 4-Volume Set was published in 1963 by The Book House for Children. It is the fourth and final version of Olive Beaupre Miller's history series, first published as My Book of History: A Picturesque Tale of Progress in 1929. Each book is bound in glossy, reddish-orange hardcovers with stamped on color illustrations and yellow lettering, with profuse interior illustrations in black and white. The four volumes in this set are Volume 1: Beginnings, Part 1 and Part 2; Volume 2: Conquests, Part 1 and Part 2; Volume 3: New Nations, Part 1 and Part 2; and Volume 4: Explorations, Part 1 and Part 2.
