The books in this section are usually hardcover and in decent shape, though we'll sometimes offer hard-to-find books in lesser condition at a reduced price. Though we often put images of the book with their original dust jackets, the copies here won't always (or even often) have them.  If you need to see photos of the actual book or have questions about the condition, please call or email.

From the dust jacket:

Maxel enjoys a bubble pipe his grandmother has brought him, until he blows a shimmering bubble so large that he finds himself trapped inside it. His mother and his grandmother cannot get him out, nor can firemen with sharp axes or even the police.

A stranger suggests that the horn of a rhinoceros is what is needed to free a boy from a soap bubble. A rhinoceros is brought to the house–and, for good measure, an elephant, a water buffalo, and a wild boar, as well.

Since the house is too small to hold the large animals, Maxel and his giant bubble are rolled outside. All the townspeople turn out for the event. But a surprise awaits them and the reader in the way that Maxel suddenly becomes free–and in the unexpected reaction of his grandmother.

The entire family will enjoy this merry spoof on the practical minded.  Colorful and imaginative illustrations add to the delightful story.
