Paul Heins

Paul Heins, born in 1909, was an author, translator, critic and editor. He also served as a teacher at Boston English High School and at Simmons College's Center for the Study of Children's Literature. As an editor, Heins worked for The Horn Book from 1967 to 1974, during which time he recorded the infamous verbal battle between Roald Dahl and Eleanor Cameron. Heins wrote two books, one entitled Crosscurrents of Criticism: Horn Book Essays, 1968-1977, and Snow White, which is his own translation and retelling of the German fairy tale. He died in 1996.
