How to Play Mastermind:

The codemaker sets up a code of color pegs under the shield. The codebreaker takes a guess, lining up rows of pegs at the other end of the board.
With every guess, the codebreaker gets clues from the codemaker. How many moves will it take until the code is broken?
After both players have taken on the role of codebreaker, the one who broke their code in the fewest moves wins.

Look back at what you've learned, then try to figure out the code . . . the faster the better!

  A Classic Game of Wits
Sincerelyornot of Oregon, 11/29/2011
MASTERMIND! Ah, the game of wits that pits the code maker against the code breaker. A fun game that finishes quickly enough for tournament play, but its still involved enough to keep the same two people at it for hours (or at least this one person and rotation of siblings....heheheee). Will you try all four of the same color in cracking the code, or will you use a combination of colors and hope to figure out which one is right as you go along? Some play that you have o tell the "breaker" exactly which pegs are correct: others, diabolically, require only that the code maker admit how many pegs are correct. How will you claim the title "Mastermind"?
