Lila Perl

Lila Perl

Perl was born in Brooklyn, New York, and grew up loving to read. Becoming a writer was one of the farthest ideas from her mind. Yet, that's how her life developed after she got married and her children attended elementary school. A writer of fiction and nonfiction, Perl traveled to Egypt to uncover information for her book Mummies, Tombs, and Treasure and investigated the origins of American food for Slumps, Grunts, and Snickerdoodles. The author of over fifty books, Perl co-authored Four Perfect Pebbles with Marion Blumenthal Lazan, a Holocaust survivor from the same concentration camp that imprisoned Anne Frank. Perl continues to write intriguing, well-researched books for children.
