A former high school English teacher, Troxel discovered that her students didn't truly understand grammar basics yet they could hum the most recent popular tunes. Combining music with education to make it easier for children to learn grammar, geography, states and capitals, mathematics, and history, Troxel and her husband Larry started the business called Audio Memory Publishing. Troxel stopped teaching to build their learning-by-singing business and raise her own children. The couple continues to reside in Newport Beach, California, and they strive to create new materials.
