Karen Andreola

A serious proponent of the homeschool movement, Karen Andreola has contributed to homeschooling with her re-introduction of the Charlotte Mason method. Upon discovering the out-of-print Original Homeschool Series by English educator Charlotte Mason, Karen and her husband Dean established their Charlotte Mason Research and Supply Co. in 1989. As a homeschooling family since the beginning of the eighties, they saw this as the ideal method for American families. Since then, Karen's research, support groups, and her book A Charlotte Mason Companion have provided many families with a user friendly and enjoyable approach to home education.

Karen's other activites include writing a regular column for Mary Pride's Practical Homschooling Magazine, and reviewing products for Christian Book Distributors. Karen also spent six years as editor for her own journal, Parents' Review. Among the volumes that she and Dean have published are Simply Grammar: An Illustrated Primar; Beautiful Girlhood; Hints on Child Training; Morning Moments; and The Write Stuff Adventure.

Dean and Karen homschooled their three children for twelve years. The family also spent a year in England working for Operation Mobilization's Send the Light ministry. They now live in Pennsylvania.
