Joost became an ordained minister after marrying his wife, and with his family, set forth to South Africa as missionaries. In 2001 he started pastoring the Christ Church in Spokane, Washington. Joost works as the executive editor of St. Anne's Public House and is a contributing editor to Credenda/Agenda magazine. He also contributed to the book Bound Only Once and to the CD from the 2001 Christ Church Ministerial Conference Minister and His Family.
