James Ramsey Ullman
Born in New York City in 1907, Ullman grew up to become known for his variety of pursuits.  As an author he penned numerous books, including Banner in the Sky, a 1955 Newbery Honor Book, and most of his works were adapted into major motion pictures.  Ullman also worked as a newspaper reporter, traveled the world, and climbed mountains.  In fact, he was part of the first American expedition to Mount Everest.  Ullman later passed away in 1971 at age 63.
