Geraldine McCaughrean

Geraldine McCaughrean

Geraldine McCaughrean (Mc-cock-run) is a British novelist extraordinaire with 170+ works to her name. She was chosen to write the estate-authorized sequel to Peter Pan (Peter Pan in Scarlet), authored Kite Rider, has both kids and adult novels and has crafted retellings of Gilgamesh, Greek myths, El Cid, Canturbury Tales, Moby Dick and many others.

Because she is not American, she is not eligible to win the Newbery Medal, but she has won the British equivalent (The Carnegie Medal) twice: first in 1988 for A Pack of Lies, and again 30 years later in 2018 for Where the World Ends.
