Erik Christian Haugaard

Erik Christian Haugaard is writer with talents that range from children's literature and poetry to playwriting and translation. Danish by birth, he was born in Frederiksberg, Denmark in 1923. Haugaard has always possessed an adventuresome spirit, and many of his works spring up from that sensibility as well as his personality as a great reader and traveler. Haugaared is the author of The Samurai's Tale and The Little Fishes, and has translated Hans Christian Anderson. His works are recognized internationally, and he has received many awards, including the Boston Globe Horn Book Award (1967).
