If you've used the second edition of BJU's World History, you're already pretty familiar with the content of this book. In the revision, Bob Jones added a completely new introductory chapter and brought the last chapter up-to-date, but other than that, the text is nearly identical (although the format is definitely more attractive).
Much more dramatic than text changes, this edition of World History is a P.I.L.R. (Personal Interactive Learning Resource) text, designed so that the students can personalize their text by writing notes, highlighting important concepts, and answering questions right in the book. Among other things, the consumable Activity Manual is built in to the two volumes of the text. (If you prefer not to use up the book, the Activity Manual is also available separately.)
On that note, the Activity Manual itself is much improved. We appreciate that BJU seems to be taking students more seriously in this edition, with questions that actually challenge or mean something; there is a lot less busy work here than there used to be.
