Dennis Paulson

Paulson was born in 1937 in Chicago, Illinois. A graduate with both a B.S. and a PhD from the University of Miami, Paulson taught biology for 12 years. He is currently the Director Emeritus of the Slater Museum of Natural History in Tacoma, Washington, and has served the Museum since 1990. Interested in both birds and dragonflies, Paulson is an evolutionist in his research which he publishes in papers, book chapters, books, and reviews. He has co-authored the National Audubon Society's Field Guide to the Pacific Northwest. As he continues to study the biodiversity of the Northwest, he also makes his findings known online at the Slater Museum's Biodiversity page.
