David Quine

While working as the science director for a very large Texas school district, Quine called home one day and listened to his wife explain how she heard a Focus on the Family broadcast and encouraged him to listen when he got home. Their children's ages at that time where all under 6 years old, with the oldest boy about to enter school, the same school where Quine had an office. After hearing Dr. Raymond Moore speak, the Quines felt they should homeschool their own children, a difficult decision based on Quine's job and other factors. They stuck to their decision and then Quine began new employment as a homeschool teacher because the school district found him no longer acceptable in his position.

As a teacher of math and science, Quine often helped other parents with questions and offered suggestions. This led to his book Making Math Meaningful, which came as a result of Quine writing down lesson plans for parents to follow. With his wife, Quine then founded the Christian based Cornerstone Curriculum Project which provides unit studies and books on Christian education and Biblical worldview, math, science, music, and art. This father of nine children also speaks at conventions and support groups. He continues to reside in Texas.
