This book about color and the printing process is a great introduction for the child interested in art or in how pictures are reproduced on the printed page!
Ruth Heller provides an excellent introduction to some basic color theory (primary, secondary and complementary colors, shade and tint, cool and warm) and how pictures are reproduced on the printed page. At one point, the book uses clear acetate pages to demonstrate the color printing process. It is fascinating to see a full-color picture emerge from the yellow, cyan, magenta and black overlays. Color will make a fun and interesting color theory introduction to add to your art lessons.
