Chris Riddell

Chris Riddell
A gifted artist from an early age, Riddell entered the world in South Africa in 1962.  His father was a vicar who opposed apartheid, and the family moved back to England where Riddell and his brothers and sister grew up.  An award-winning illustrator, Riddell has also co-authored several books, including The Edge Chronicles with Paul Stewart.  On his own, Riddell has begun penning the "Ottoline" series while continuing to illustrate for other writers.  In fact, he has illustrated over 100 books.  A respected political cartoonist as well, Riddell drew for The Economist and did occasional cover work for them.  He is now employed by The Observer in London, where he contributes a weekly Sunday cartoon, and Riddell is the cover artist for the magazine Literary Review.  Living in Brighton, England by the sea, Riddell works in the studio behind his house.
