Charles David Baker is the author of numerous books and series. Born in Pennsylvania, with prominent ancestors from the area, he attended college in Collegetown, Penn., at Ursinus College. Now writing from his small farm in eastern Pennsylvania, Baker lives with his wife, Susan, with whom he has two sons, and his numerous farm animals and three horses. Although he formally owned a succesful business, he now writes full time, and his books explore the concept of the human condition. Baker loves history, so he has toured North America, South Africa, Europe, and Britain. His first book, Crusade of Tears, was published in 1999 under the title A Journey of Souls, and this was followed in 2005 with a companion novel, Quest of Hope. These two books were summed up with Pilgrims of Promise, the conclusion to the Journey of Souls series. His other books are The List, and the most recent, the carefully researched Swords of Heaven (2006).
