The books in this section are usually hardcover and in decent shape, though we'll sometimes offer hard-to-find books in lesser condition at a reduced price. Though we often put images of the book with their original dust jackets, the copies here won't always (or even often) have them. If you need to see photos of the actual book or have questions about the condition, please call or email.
Babar's family is on a visit to the country. While there, the young ones organize a picnic, during which they have an adventure involving a tribe of African natives.
Please Note:
The Babar books are definitely products of their time. Both Jean and his son Laurent portray "French" colonialism in a positive light and in this book, Laurent's stereotypical images of African "savages" may well offend readers. Also, if you have a hard time reading cursive, this story's text is completely in that style!
