Arthur W. Pink

Arthur W. Pink

Born on April 1, 1886, to Christian parents, Arthur Walkington Pink later turned to Theosophy, a philosophy that all religions help humanity find perfection and each religion has a truth to offer. In his early twenties, he converted to Christianity after heeding his father's Scriptural advice. Wanting to further his religious education, he traveled to the United States to study at Moody Bible Institute. He didn't stay long before he left to pastor congregations in the U.S., Australia, and England. Pink wasn't a successful pastor. During his life he began a monthly magazine to promote Godly living, but it didn't reach many people. Only after his death from anemia in Scotland on July 15, 1952, when his works were republished did people realize his wisdom, causing a change in preaching to see more ministers expound on Bible passages and re-emphasize living based on the Bible.
