Alistair Begg

Alistair Begg

Alistair Begg was born in 1952, in Glasgow, Scotland, and he studied at Trent University, London School of Theology, and Westminster Seminary. After graduating from the London School of Theology, Begg returned to Scotland to spend eight years pastoring Charlotte Chapel in Edinburgh and Hamilton Baptist Church. He then married his American wife, Susan, with whom he has grown children, and moved near Cleveland, Ohio, to serve as senior pastor of Parkside Church, where he has been for twenty-two years. In addition, Begg's minstry includes the "Truth for Life" radio program. A supporter of Reformed Theology, he advocates the importance of the Bible as God's Word and the use of knowing the Bible as a way to also know God. Recently, Begg was awarded both an honorary doctorate from Cedarville University and United States citizenship. Because of his earnest fondnes for golf, Begg also made a cameo appearance in Bobby Jones: Stroke of Genius as Stewart Maiden, Jones' Scottish intructer.

His books include:

  • What Angels Wish They Knew: Basics of True Christianity (1999)
  • Preaching For God's Glory (2000)
  • Pathway to Freedom: How God's Laws Guide Our Lives (2000)
  • The Hand of God: Finding His Care in All Circumstances (2001)
  • Made for His Pleasure: Ten Benchmarks of a Vital Faith (2005)
