Everyday is the same for Pablo's father. But then one day something big happens. The ground growls, hisses smoke, and swallows up his plow. A volcano erupts in the middle of his cornfield! Based on the true story of the eruption of a real volcano in 1943—the second of only two volcano births to be seen by human eyes—this story warns against wanting something to happen. You might just get your wish!

  A Suprising Volcano
Noah (age 8) of Oregon, 6/10/2016
This story is about a family that lived in Mexico. The Father felt like nothing new happened. Everyday, he had two hotcakes for breakfast and went to plow the field. One morning he got up and plowed the field early. When the plow got stuck because a rock was in front on the plow, the farmer got out to throw it. He threw it and all of the sudden, it sank down deep into a hole on the hill and smoke came out! All of the sudden, fire came out! You'll have to read the story to find out what happened next! There was nothing I disliked about Hill of Fire and it taught me to be happy, even if everything is the same everyday!
