  Sam and the Minutemen
Hallel of Wisconsin, 8/26/2016
Sam was a little boy and at night he heard a noise so he got out of bed and got dressed and went to his mother and father. His father said to get his gun and follow him. They heard marching coming up the hill. It was the British soldiers from Boston. Sam and the other minutemen started firing their guns. Some of the minutemen were killed. Sam was scared. Then they went home. Then they went back to the minutemen and fought again. Then they chased the British soldiers back to Boston. This time Sam was not scared. Then he and his father went home.

Sam is the son of a minuteman. A minute man's job is to be ready at a minute's notice. Once, Sam woke up to the sound of bells ringing! He went to the window in the middle of the night in his pajamas. The bells were ringing because the British were coming through. His father told him to grab his gun, so he grabbed his gun and went outside. He gathered in a field with the minutemen and the British saw them! The British killed 8 minute men. Sam's friend John got hit in the leg. To find out more about Sam the Minuteman, you should read the rest for yourself. I love this book!
